David Rodrigues, age 21, passed away on April 25, 2026, in Japan while actively serving in the United States Marine Corps.

Born on March 10, 2005, in Newark, David was raised in Warren and attended Watchung Hills Regional High School. From a young age, David possessed a strong spirit, determination, and sense of purpose that ultimately led him to proudly serve his country as a United States Marine. He attained the rank of Lance Corporal and faithfully served for over three years. Wearing the Marine uniform was one of the greatest honors of his life, and he carried himself with pride, discipline, and courage.

David was Catholic in faith and had a deep appreciation for life and the people around him. He enjoyed swimming, singing, dancing, hiking, and above all else, being surrounded by family and friends. He had a magnetic presence, a bright smile, and an energy that could light up a room. Handsome, confident, and full of life, David made lasting impressions everywhere he went and formed close bonds with those fortunate enough to know him.

Though his life was far too short, David lived with passion and purpose. His love for his family remained constant no matter where his military service brought him, and the memories he created with those he loved will forever be cherished.

He is survived by his father, Armindo L. Rodrigues; his mother, Ellen Rodrigues; his step-mother, Josy Ramos, his brothers, Alexander L. Rodrigues, João Pedro C. Andrade, and Owen Sardo, his beloved little step-brother; his grandparents, Lucinda C. Pereira, David Rodrigues, Luiza de Castro Ferreira, Walther Maia das Araujo, and Robert Stack, his step-grandfather; his uncles, Allan F. Araujo, Marco E. Rodrigues, Fred C. Pereira, Andreia C. Ferreira, Daniele Klein, Celina Rodrigues, and Ale Pereira; and by his cousins, Nicholas Klein Araujo, Aryane Rodrigues, Biatris Rodrigues, Lourenço Pereira, Camila Messina, Nichole Messina, and Amanda Messina.

David will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, his love for life, and the tremendous pride he took in being a Marine. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and friends, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
