Dorothy A. Lindstrom
Dorothy A. Lindstrom, of Macungie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 13, 1948, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Herbert and Marion Robinson. She spent most of her life in Martinsville and Bridgewater, New Jersey, where she raised her family, built a successful career, and created a lifetime of cherished memories. Two years ago, she moved to Macungie, Pennsylvania, where she enjoyed this newest chapter of her life. She also held a special love for Old Forge, New York, where she had a vacation home and treasured the time she spent there.
Dorothy received her associate degree and went on to dedicate her entire professional career to the healthcare industry. Over the years, she worked at several respected hospitals, including Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, and most recently Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, where she served as the Director of Patient Accounts before her retirement. Dorothy was known for her intelligence, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the pride she took in her career. Her work in healthcare reflected not only her professionalism, but also her commitment to helping others through the important administrative side of patient care.
Outside of work, Dorothy had a wide range of interests that reflected her unique spirit and personality. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and, in her younger years, loved going to Flemington Speedway. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, especially during the earlier chapters of her life, and had an adventurous side that brought her much joy. Dorothy also loved country music, particularly the music of Alan Jackson. Her daughter had taken her to several of his concerts over the years, and those special times together became treasured memories that will always hold a meaningful place in her heart.
Dorothy also had a great love for her dogs, especially her beloved pugs. They brought her happiness, companionship, and comfort, and were truly a special part of her life.
Most of all, Dorothy’s greatest joy came from her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished the moments spent with those she loved, and her presence in their lives was a source of strength, comfort, and love. She will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to her family, her independent spirit, and the many memories she leaves behind.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Wheeler; her children, Susan Hoffman and her husband, Darren, and Kendall Lindstrom and his wife, Michelle; and her five beloved grandchildren, Clinton, Connor, Blake, Melody, and Lorena. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Robinson and his wife, Gayle, and her sister, Joan Fry and beloved nieces, Harley, Kelsey and nephew Jeffrey
She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Robinson.
