Maria Carmela Aimacana, lovingly known to many simply as “Melita,” passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at her home in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, at the age of 95. Born on May 9, 1931, in Latacunga, Ecuador, she lived a life centered around faith, family, love, and devotion to those closest to her.

Melita was the beloved daughter of Luis Aimacana and Dominga Lasluisa. Raised in Ecuador, she carried with her throughout her life the traditions, values, and warmth of her homeland. Though she completed only elementary school, she possessed a wisdom, strength, and kindness that deeply impacted everyone who knew her.

Above all else, Melita was devoted to her family. She dedicated her life to caring for her home and raising her children with unconditional love and sacrifice. Her kitchen was often the heart of family gatherings, where she lovingly prepared traditional meals that brought generations together. Cooking for her family was one of her greatest joys, and the memories created around her table will forever remain cherished by those she loved.

Melita was a faithful Roman Catholic and attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Her faith provided her with strength throughout her life and guided the compassion and generosity she showed to others.

She was predeceased by ✝ Rafael Lasluisa, her beloved husband, who passed away eighteen years ago.

Her love and legacy live on through her family: Olga, Raul, RufinaConcha, ✝Luis Arturo, , Rafael, Nancy, and Jeaneth. She also leaves behind 22 cherished grandchildren and 23 adored great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Maria Carmela Aimacana will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering dedication to her family, her traditional cooking, and the love she gave so freely throughout her 95 years. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Su cocina era frecuentemente el corazón de las reuniones familiares, donde preparaba con cariño comidas tradicionales que unían a generaciones enteras. Cocinar para su familia era una de sus mayores alegrías, y los recuerdos creados alrededor de su mesa permanecerán para siempre en el corazón de sus seres queridos.

Melita fue una fiel católica y asistía a la Iglesia Católica Romana St. Joseph. Su fe le brindó fortaleza a lo largo de su vida y guió la compasión y generosidad que ofrecía a los demás.

Fue precedida en la muerte por ✝ Rafael Lasluisa, su amado esposo, quien falleció hace dieciocho años.

Su amor y legado continúan viviendo a través de su familia: Olga, Raul, Rufina Concha, ✝ Luis Arturo, Rafael, Nancy y Jeaneth. También deja a 22 queridos nietos y 23 adorados bisnietos, quienes llenaron su vida de inmensa alegría y orgullo.
