F. Marguerite “F.M.” Kisling
F. Marguerite “F.M.” Kisling passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old.
Marguerite was born on August 5, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late William and Mary Mostica. She grew up in Nutley before moving to South Plainfield. After a short time there, she settled in Plainfield where she raised her family. She also called Edison, New Jersey and Ocala, Florida home before returning to Nutley, New Jersey to be closer to her family. Later in life, she resided in Forked River, New Jersey and most recently, in Warren, New Jersey at Mira Vie Assisted Living.
Marguerite graduated from Saint Michael’s Hospital School of Nursing and went on to enjoy a long, meaningful, and dedicated career as a registered nurse. Throughout her years in nursing, she served in many departments and held many positions at Rahway Hospital, JFK Hospital in Edison, Clara Maass in Belleville, and Kessler Institute in West Orange, where she retired as an executive night supervisor. She worked in several areas of patient care, including medical-surgical nursing, but her favorite department was always the emergency room. Her career reflected not only her skill and professionalism, but also her compassion, strength, and steady devotion to helping others.
She was a former member of Saint Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Forked River, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. Her faith was an important part of her life and remained a source of comfort and guidance to her throughout the years.
Marguerite had a fond love of travel and enjoyed visiting many places, including Cancun, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, West Palm Beach, and Italy, a trip she always remembered fondly. When her children were younger, the family created many cherished memories traveling together in their RV trailer, including trips to Massachusetts and the Berkshires. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and making antipasto for her family.
Above all, Marguerite’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was filled with love, hard work, faith, and service, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and deep devotion to those she loved.
Marguerite was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Michele Hayes.
She is survived by her loving children, Nick Kisling and his wife, Chona, and Jud Kisling and his wife, Regina; her eight cherished grandchildren, Erin Bloodworth (Jim), Ciaran Way (Tripp), Patrick Kisling (Micael-Anne), Carolyn Collins (Joe), Alexis Kisling (Dan), Monique Rae Krimm (Patrick), Trevor Hayes, and Victoria Kisling. She is also survived by her five treasured great-grandchildren, McKenna, James, Leonard, Vaeda, Sloane, and Luke; her brother, Steve Mostica; a niece; a nephew; their children; extended family; and many loving friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey. A vigil service will be offered at 5:00 p.m.
