Frank Caporaso Obituary
Frank Caporaso, 95, passed away peacefully at his home in Martinsville, New Jersey, on Monday, August 3, 2026.
Born on January 25, 1931, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Frank was the son of the late Felix and Catherine Caporaso. He was raised in Elizabeth before purchasing a parcel of land in Martinsville, where he built the family home with his own hands in 1959. It was there that he and his family established deep roots, and he remained a proud Martinsville resident for more than six decades.
A proud patriot, Frank honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career as a roofer with Harris Company, where he worked for 40 years before retiring in 1993.
Frank was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, where he generously volunteered as a head usher for many years. He was also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). His quiet dedication to his church, his fellow veterans, and his community reflected the kindness, humility, and sense of service that defined his life.
Frank embraced life with an appreciation for the simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, enjoyed dancing, and had a lifelong admiration for antique automobiles. He also took great pride in raising beagles, a hobby that brought him much enjoyment over the years. Whether listening to the timeless music of the Rat Pack or sharing stories with family and friends, Frank found happiness in the people and pastimes he loved most.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine, in 2014.
He leaves behind his loving family, including his son, Felix Caporaso and his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Ann Skiba; and his cherished grandsons, Matt and Hunter, who will forever treasure his love, guidance, and example.
Frank will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, his love of country, and the quiet dignity with which he lived his life. His memory will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Rd., Martinsville, NJ 08836. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's-Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung.
