Obituary of Frantisek Tichy

Martinsville: Mr. Frantisek "Frank" Tichy, 56, died suddenly on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at his home. Born in Prague, Czech Republic, he settled in the US in Somerset, where he lived until 1989 when he moved to Martinsville. He had been employed for the past 15 years as an electronic technician for Excel Media in Manhattan. Previously, he worked 20 years for Select Audio Visual in Manhattan. Frank enjoyed working with his hands, having had a natural ability to fix almost anything. He was quite a thinker who enjoyed watching classic movies. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. His father, Frank Tichy predeceased him. Surviving are his wife, Zdenka Panosova Tichy; a daughter, Anna Kristine Tichy at home; his mother, Marie Tichy of Florida; two sisters, Jarka Palmer, her husband Glen of Mahwah, their children, Lauren and Samantha; and Jana Korn, her husband, Joe of Toms River and their children, Monica, Erica, Elizabeth, Amy and Joe. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 9:15 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10 am Mass of Resurrection at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. Cremation private. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
