Obituary of Frank J. Dell Bene

Frank J. Dell Bene, age 78, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Somerset Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Bound Brook. He was born and raised in Plainfield and had lived in Warren for over 30 years before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1995. Mr. Dell Bene served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War as a Private 1St Class but was an acting Corporal. He received his Associates Degree from Rutger's University in Business. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was an owner of The Novak Company in Plainfield. He also worked for Safeway stores and Shop Rite. Mr. Dell Bene was a member of Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church, North Plainfield. He enjoyed golfing, model trains, bowling and traveling especially to his home in South Carolina. Mr. Dell Bene is predeceased by his wife, Ann Novak Dell Bene in 1999, his father, Angelo Del Beni; his brother, Charles Del Bene and his son-in-law, Dennis O' Mara. Surviving are his daughters, Susan Brennan and her husband, Jack of South Carolina, Patricia Dell Bene O'Mara of Piscataway and Louise Stahl and her husband Theodore of Somerville; his mother, Mary Wirth; and his grandchildren, Heather, Sean and Sarah. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church 170 Watchung Ave., North Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung
