Obituary of Darryl M. Hayden

Darryl M. Hayden, 46, of Plainfield passed away suddenly on October 12, 2010 at John F. Kennedy Hospital. Mr. Hayden was a resident of Plainfield for 46 years and graduated from Plainfield Adult School on June 8, 1979. He worked as a high school and handicapped school bus driver. He was a truly gifted artist and poet, who loved to listen and compile music, watch movies and avidly collected comic books. He will long be remembered and admired by family and friends as some one everyone loved as a son, brother, uncle, great- uncle and friend. He left the gift of patience, love, sensitivity and kindness to all who knew and loved him. He was predeceased in death by his father, Bernard H. Hayden, Sr., and sister, Deborah A. Burroughs. He is survived by his mother, Theodora L. Hayden; sisters, Charlotte V. Pierre of Plainfield, NJ, Bernice H. King of Piscataway, NJ and Marilyn R. Auten of Edgewater Park, NJ; his brother, Bernard H. Hayden, Jr. of Plainfield, NJ; ten nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews and his aunt, Katherine Perkins. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at 12:00 noon at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00 noon.
