Obituary of Fred A. Manley, Jr.

Fred A. Manley, Jr., age 58, died on Saturday, December 18th, 2010 at his home in Basking Ridge. Born in Paterson, he resided in Glen Rock and Hohokus before moving to Basking Ridge in 1986. Fred was an attorney with McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP in Morristown. He previously had worked with the firm Connell, Foley & Geiser in Newark. After graduating from Fordham University Law School he clerked for Superior Court Judge Thomas Dalton, in 1978. He graduated from Notre Dame University in 1974 with a Bachelors in English. In his spare time he enjoyed all sports, especially Rugby and Ice Hockey. Surviving are his sons, John A. and Matt. W. Manley, both of Basking Ridge; his sisters, Mary Ann McCabe of Frenchtown and Mary Jane Manley of Manasquan and his former wife, Joanne Manley of Basking Ridge. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. James RC Church, Basking Ridge and services at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Chapel in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society would be deeply appreciated.
