SHERRY (BOCK) FLANAGAN 3/18/54 Age 56 - BRIDGEWATER Sherry (Bock) Flanagan, 56, of Bridgewater passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 surrounded by family members at Morristown Memorial Hospital . She died peacefully after three and a half years of living with cancer. Sherry was born in Morristown and spent the last 14 years in Bridgewater. Sherry was a communicant of St. James R.C. Church in Basking Ridge where up until three weeks ago she taught 8th grade CCD, sang in the choir and organized prayer chains. She was a popular and integral member of the Sunset Lake community in Bridgewater, where she served on the social and environmental committees. Sherry worked as a television booking agent through her business, Media Mom, even during her illness. She was known for her vivacity, her kindness and her gracious manner, which remained unchanged after she was given six months to live in November 2007. She lived fully since that time, facing her declining health with strong faith, dignity and the sort of courage that allowed her to comfort those around her. She is survived by her best friend and husband, Arthur J. Flanagan III, her mother, Jeannie Vogel Preston, North Palm Beach, Fla., her father, Harry Preston and his wife Linda of Shingletown, Calif., three sons, Gregory and Jonathan Bock at home and Andrew Flanagan of Green Brook, two daughters, Meghan Flanagan also of Green Brook and Sarah Flanagan, of Nashville, Tenn., her niece, Christina Flanagan at home and her brother, Scott Preston and his wife Kathy of Arroyo Grande, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ followed by an 11:00 am mass of the resurrection at St. James R.C. Church in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Carol G.
