Obituary of Arthur P. Siegfried

Arthur P. Siegfried, born April 28, 1935, in Atlantic Highlands, NJ to Dora S. and Frank S. Siegfried, died on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Regency Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Somerset. In 1950 he had polio, lost a year from school and made a full recovery. Then reverted back two years and graduated from Peddie School, Hightstown in 1954, the University of Pennsylvania in 1958 and Seton Hall University School of Law in 1962. He was admitted to the bar, State of New Jersey in 1963. Arthur practiced law in Red Bank and enjoyed the many aspects of his varied practice. He was a member and past master of Monmouth Lodge; NJ State Bar Association; Monmouth County Bar Association and various other civic-minded organizations; member and leader of Raritan Valley Post Polio Support Group; founder of Monmouth County Post Polio Support Group; president Polio Network of NJ. He had been a very active member in congregation B'nai Israel, Rumson. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Morgan Houser and has lived in Bridgewater since 1998. Survivors include his best friend, Bernice Bock Kianese; a stepson, Philip (Flip) Houser and his wife Dee; a stepdaughter, Tracy Hendershot and her husband Bill and 5 marvelous grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Will, Emily and Jake. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
