Obituary of Concetta Maglio

Concetta Maglio, known to those who love her as "Connie", passed peacefully at her residence in Warren, New Jersey on March 24, 2011. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 89 years old. Connie was born on December 18, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York. In 1950, Connie and her husband Tony moved to South Plainfield, New Jersey where they lived for many years. In 1976, they moved to a house they had built in Warren, New Jersey. Connie and Tony were happily married for 67 years. During the 1940's, Connie worked as a buyer for Russum's Department Store. In 1945, she began raising a family. After her children were grown, Connie was a volunteer at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. Connie's hobbie's were knitting, sewing, cooking and traveling. She had a deep love of the beach and could be found during the summer months at her residence on Monteray Beach, Lavalette, NJ. Connie is survived by her four children, Anthony Maglio of Milford, NJ, Vincent Maglio of Juniper Island, FL, Maria Maglio of Boston, MA and Gesomina Maglio of Far Hills, NJ. She has three grandchildren, James, Justine and Marisa as well as one great grandson, Hunter. Connie was predeceased by her husband, Anthony on November 29, 2009. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, March 27th from 1 to 2 pm followed by a 2 pm service at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Cremation was private.
