Obituary of Carolyn Gail Jones

Carolyn Gail Ratliff Jones was born March 29, 1960, to the late Hayward Lewis, Sr. and Fannie Baldwin Ratliff in Philadelphia, PA. As a child, Carolyn's church home was the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in West Philadelphia, PA. In 1978, Carolyn graduated from Cecilian Academy in Philadelphia, PA, and then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science at Albright College in Reading, PA. After the completion of college, Carolyn began her 22-year career at Novartis Pharmaceuticals as an Electronic Case Report Form Developer for clinical trials. Carol left Novartis and continued her career and present position as a Sr. Clinical Database Programmer for Clinical Data & Information Sciences at Roche Innovation Center in New York. Carolyn was a Godly woman. For many years, she was a member of Living Word Christian Fellowship, Plainfield Campus, under the tutelage of Pastor Cedric A. Miller. There, she organized and spearheaded the Hartwyck Outreach Ministry, and served as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. Carolyn is predeceased by her late husband Gregory Rodney Jones and her parents Hayward Lewis, Sr., and Fannie Baldwin Ratliff. Carol leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Naomi and Janine Jones of North Plainfield, NJ; her fraternal twin brother, Hayward Lewis Ratliff, Jr., of Philadelphia, PA; two aunts, Shirley Cobb of Florence, SC, and Beverly Rountree of Kinston, NC; two half-sisters, Alana Ratliff-Johnson and Estee Ratliff of Philadelphia, PA, and a host of cousins and other relatives, friends, co-workers and her beloved church family.
