Obituary of Edward T. Raffo

Bridgewater: Edward T. Raffo, age 89, passed away on Thursday February 15, 2018 at his home in Bridgewater. Born in New York City, Mr. Raffo was raised in Flushing, NY and has resided in Bridgewater since 1964.

Mr. Raffo was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Mineola NY and later went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Fordham University. 

He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Raffo was the founder of Universal Business Systems Inc. a family owned and operated computer software company located in Branchburg for over 35 years. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament RC Church in Martinsville NJ. Mr. Raffo was an avid golfer and had been a member of the Raritan Valley Country Club since 1969. He was also an accomplished author having published a novel “The Spy Who Kissed Twice”; the story of a spy during the Korean Conflict. 

He was predeceased by his wife Irene Raffo in 2007.

He is survived by two sons Edward R. Raffo and his wife Randy and Chris Raffo; a daughter Laurie Wells and her husband Larry; two brothers Thomas and Bob Raffo and a sister Betty Canary. Mr. Raffo is also survived by six grandchildren Greg, Kyle, Whitney, Katie, Matthew and Cheryl and 2 great grandchildren Keely and Colette.

A memorial gathering will be held 2 to 4pm on Saturday February24, 2018 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069 followed by a memorial service at 4 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in his loving memoryto St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
