Obituary of Anthony Richard Pelligrino

In Memoriam: Anthony R. Pelligrino

Bridgewater, NJ - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony Richard Pelligrino, 90, fondly known to his many family and friends as Sonny, on Wednesday, December 28th, 2023. Anthony, the beloved son of Antonio and Mary (née Campolattano) Pelligrino, was born in Plainfield, NJ, where he resided for many years and departed this world surrounded by the love of his family and the incredible team of nurses and caregivers at Avalon Assisted Living in Hillsborough, NJ.

Anthony was a proud Italian American and the youngest of seven children in his family. His life was a testament to his core values of family, tradition, dedication, and celebration. He loved Italian music, food, and customs. He shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Marie (née Presuto), who predeceased him. Together they created a legacy of love and cherished memories.

As a Tool and Die Maker at Hyatt Roller Bearing, Anthony displayed craftsmanship and skill that earned him the respect of his colleagues. He served in the military during the Korean War in Jackson, South Carolina. Later in his career, he worked hard to thrive in his role as a Financial Planner for CJM Planning and American Financial, where he guided many clients toward financial security and stability.

The highlight of Anthony’s professional career was when he founded Bridgeway Senior Healthcare, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of the community and his drive to succeed as a business owner. His business partners quickly became like extended family, especially his partner Dr. Rebecca Rivera, MD, and her three sons (Jere, Jon, and Jason) who all shared a special place in his heart.

Anthony leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted son, Donald; daughter-in-law, Elaine; three grandchildren (Jessica, Donny, and Allie); three great-grandchildren (Nico, Eliana, and Lena); as well as 16 nieces and nephews.

He found immense joy in spending time at the Jersey Shore, with cherished memories created in Baywood, Atlantic City, and Harvey Cedars. An enthusiast of card games and casino outings, Anthony enjoyed the thrill of a good hand and the excitement of a well-played game.

Anthony Richard Pelligrino's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and the joy of shared experiences. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
