Jerome John O Brien
Martinsville: Jerome Jerry John OBrien, age 67, died on Thursday, December 23, 2004 in Avenel. He was born in Orange, NJ, grew up in Glen Ridge, lived in Morristown and Bridgewater and then settled in Martinsville where he had resided for the past 20 years.
Jerry OBrien was a self-employed owner of the Brandywine Trucking and Equipment Company for twenty years in Avenel. He also worked for Mack Trucking Company and Ford Motor Company as a salesman.
Jerry OBrien is a communicant of Blessed Sacrament RC Church in Martinsville. He is also a veteran of the US Air Force, a member of the Strategic Air Command, serving in Iceland, Azores and Morocco. He attended the University of Maryland. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, reading and was the treasurer of the Hidden Valley Gun Club in Pottersville.
Jerry OBrien is predeceased by his father, Jerome F. OBrien, and his father-in-law, William Powers, DDS.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Powers OBrien, his three children, Patricia Leary and her husband Rob Meyer; Meagan Powers OBrien, MD; and Erin McManus OBrien; his mother, Rita Leary OBrien; his three brothers, John Michael, Daniel and Thomas OBrien; his four sister, Anne and Susan OBrien, Joan Boland and Mary Kellogg; his mother-in-law, Marion Powers; his sister-in-law, Peggy Thomas; his brother-in-law, William Powers, 13 nieces and nephews; sisters and brother-in-law and numerous friends and associates.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville.
