Obituary of Nicholas D. Verdi

Mr. Nicholas D. Verdi, 85, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born and raised in Jersey City, he moved to North Plainfield 29 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1986, he was employed for 23 years as a machinist by the Mundt Corporation in South Plainfield. He was a member of the North Plainfield Senior Citizens and the Disabled Veterans Association. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and spending time with his three grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Coccaro Verdi, a son, Nick Verdi, two daughters, Linda Verdi and Irene Scanlon and her husband Mike, a brother, Anthony Verdi and three grandchildren, John, Michael and Erin. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2005 at a time to be announced from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset St, No. Plainfield, followed by funeral Mass at St. Josephs R.C. Church in North Plainfield and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
