Obituary of Jean Bassoff Rakow

Jean Bassoff Rakow, age 91 died on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She was born in Point Pleasant, NJ and lived in Plainfield before moving to Westfield in 1988. She was a member of the United Orthodox Synagogue in Plainfield. Mrs. Rakow is predeceased by her husbands, David Bassoff in 1977 and Arthur Rakow in 1988; her 4 brothers, Morton, Harry, Abe and Charlie Schneider and 3 sisters, Frances Fineberg, Mary and Fanny Schneider. Surviving are her children, Esther Joyce Farrow of Cordova, TN, Irving Ellis Bassoff of Ft. Pierce, FL, Lisa Bassoff Obermeier of Raritan Boro and Marcey Bassoff of Somerset; her brother Phillip Schneider of Chapel Hill,NC; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 10:00a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung. Interment will be at Temple Sholom Cemetery, Bridgewater.
