Obituary of Mary Muzikar
Mary Ellen Muzikar, age 77, died on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born and raised in Plainfield to the late William and Alice Hagen Allen, Mrs. Muzikar was a long time resident of Warren before moving to Bernardsville two years ago.
Mrs. Muzikar was an Executive for the NJ Life Insurance Company in Newark for 15 years retiring in 1988.
She was a very active communicant of Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church in Warren. She was a member of the Eucharistic Adoration Society, a past president and current member of the Altar Rosary Society and a member of the Family Prayer group. She was also a member of the Diocesen Eucharist League, was an Adorer of the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in Raritan, NJ and was a member of the Divine Mercy Apostolate.
Mrs. Muziker attended the March of Life in Washington, DC several times, supported a child in Chile through the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging and visited the sick and homebound in nursing homes in the area.
Mrs. Muzikar is predeceased by her husband Edward Muzikar. Her three brothers, John, William and Harold Allen and her sister Alice Allen.
She is survived by her brother, Alfred Allen and his wife Dawn of Citrus Springs, FL; her sister Elizabeth A. Layburn and her husband William of Atlanta, GA. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 22nd at 9:30 a.m. from the Higgins Funeral Home, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church, Warren. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
