I will truly miss Nate. He was a kind and gentle person to be around. As a more mature person of life and life experiences he would bring a smile to my heart as he spoke his mind about things that needed commenting on. He was a tough old fella like that.
He was a beautiful person that would always, always greet me with a hug when ever he saw and tell me how he loved attending my aikido classes and loved my style of teaching. And as one of the longest running members of Union County Aikikai / Aikido of Union County / ASNJ - That is a lot of hugs.
I will miss you my friend,
Love Brian.

Dear Nate,
I always had a wonderful time practicing Aikido with you on the mat. You were quite an inspiration and showed me (and the rest of the dojo) that anyone can do Aikido regardless of age. I know that the dojo will miss you.

Nate was an enthusiast. Whether he was discussing the world of ideas, sharing some of the amazing anecdotes of his long life, or talking with pride about his children and grandchildren, he was always bubbling over with a sense of fun and excitement. He loved life and seemed perpetually tickled by the variety of experiences it presented. He was always good company and will be sorely missed.

Nate was so sweet to me when I first started in Aikido. His patience and exuberance carried me through the beginning, which is often tough in Aikido. I remember fondly the Aikido Seminar in Bermuda a few years agao where I shared a house with him and Sensei Stickles and the guest Instructor Sensei Lehrman. It was a fun time had by all.
We have missed Nate at ASNJ. My condolences to his family.

We both knew Nate from Aikido and are fortunate to have had contact with someone as generous at he. Nate was always kind and had only nice things to say about everything and everyone. It was a joy coming to class and seeing Nate there just "doing" and able to let things go and teach others to enjoy what they were doing. He always made us smile and we have thought of him often during his absence from the mat. He will be missed. - Sergio and Candice

I have many great memories of Nate on the Aikido Mat, which will always make me smile. Most of all I'll always remember his kindness and how he always had something good to say about everyone.
So-long my friend.
