Obituary of Ronald R. Deck

: Ronald R. Deck, age 59 died on Friday, April 1, 2005 at his home in Watchung. He was born in Plainfield and had lived in Watchung since 1950. Mr. Deck was a driver for Thul Auto Parts in Plainfield for two years. Previously, he was a nurses aide at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center for over 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 293 in Warren, a member of the Exempt Volunteer Fireman of Watchung and of the NJ State Fire and Police Association. Mr. Deck was a member of Wilson Memorial Union Church. He served on the USS Hancock, CVA 19 Aircraft Carrier during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his parents, Joseph R. and Mildred V. (Greene) Deck; his bothers, Herbert Deck of Ramona, CA and Patrick Deck of Watchung; his nephew, Jacob Deck of San Diego, CA and his two aunts, Frances Pezza and Helen Batcha, both of Toms River. Also surviving are 3 cousins, Mary Jane Lisny of Manville, Elizabeth Ann Demarest of Sussex and Melinda Lisny of Ocean Grove. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2005 at 11:00 am at Wilson Memorial Union Church, corner of Valley Road and Hillcrest Road in Watchung. Interment is private. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 3rd from 7-9 p.m. only at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset St., North Plainfield. Memorial donations to Wilson Memorial Union Church in his memory would be deeply appreciated.
