Obituary of Sidney Shane-Szejniuk

Sidney Shane- Szejnick, age 89, died on Monday, April 11, 2005 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Vicna, Poland, he was a long time Green Brook resident. Mr. Shane-Szejniuk was the co-owner of S & S Fabrics in Green Brook. He and his late wife established their fabric and upholstery business 67 years ago on the corner of Central Avenue and Front St. in Plainfield. They were at this location for 29 years until moving to their present location on Route 22 West in 1960. He was a member of the United Orthodox Synogogue of Plainfield and served as a member of the Chevra Kadisha Society for many years. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Sylvia Orenstein Shane-Szejniuk in June of 2004. Surviving are his sons, Gary Shane and his wife Jane of Hillsborough and Mark Shane and his wife Judy of East Windsor; his daughter, Dorothy Debbie Ballinger and her husband Jon of Middlesex; his grandchildren, Sheryl, Michael, Bree, Jessica, Averye, Vanessa, Jon, Lisa and Brett; and his great-grandchildren Angela and Kylie. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Beth Israel Memorial Park Cemetery, Route One North in Woodbridge. Arrangements are by Higgins Home for Funerals, Plainfield.
