Obituary of Dominick Caruso
Domenick Caruso, age 79 died on Thursday, April 14, at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was born in Italy and came to America in 1947, settling in Elizabeth and then moving to Bridgewater in 1973.
Mr. Caruso owned and operated several companies specializing in Utilities and Heavy Highway Construction for over 40 years retiring in 1996. He was elected into the Utility and Transportation Contractors Association of New Jersey Hall of Fame in 1999 for service and advancements made to the industry.
He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville.
He is predeceased by a brother.
Mr. Caruso was an avid gardener, a wine maker and loved being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Rose LaFace Caruso; his sons, Joseph Caruso of Bridgewater, Anthony Caruso and his wife Cynthia of Bridgewater and Dominick Caruso III of Bridgewater; his daughters, Rosemarie Renda and her husband Ernesto and Nancy DeLoria and her husband Peter, all of Readington, and 13 loving grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers, 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2005 at 9:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. Entombment will be at St. Bernards Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visitation will be on Saturday from 7-9 and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association, 2550 US highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
