Obituary of Helen Greene

Helen Reitermayer Greene, age 96, died on Saturday, April 23, 2005 in the Arbor Glen Continuing Care facility in Bridgewater. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late John Carl and Martha Brinker Reitermayer, Mrs. Greene lived in Ridgewood, NY for 89 before years moving to Bridgewater 7 years ago. Mrs. Greene taught in the NYC Public School System for 43 years. She was a communicant of St. Matthias Church in Ridgewood. She was a world traveler, an avid reader and enjoyed painting. Mrs. Greene is predeceased by her husband, Robert William Greene in 1986. She is survived by two daughters: Ellen Borzelli of Bridgewater, and Deborah Greene Melling of Victoria, British Columbia, five grandchildren: Christopher and Brendan O'Hara, Juliana, Nicholas and Rowan Melling, and great-grandchild, Carmryn O'Hara. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 11 a.m. at The Shrine of Saint Joseph, 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling. Interment will be held on Monday at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Southold, L.I., NY. Donations may be made to the Somerset Valley Visiting Nurse Hospice, 586 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Arrangements are by Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung.
