Obituary of Joan Frezza

Joan R. Frezza, age 71 died on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA and had lived in Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield over 39 years ago. Mrs. Frezza was an Admitting Officer at the Lyons VA Hospital in Lyons for over 30 years. She was a member of the Junior Catholic Womens Club in Plainfield and volunteered at the soup kitchen at Grace Episcopal Church in Plainfield. Mrs. Frezza was a communicant of St. Lukes Church in North Plainfield. She loved to read and go out to dinner with her girlfriends on Friday evenings but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony Frezza in 1989 and her father, John E. Riley in 2004 and her mother, Mary Livingston Riley in 1990. Surviving are her sons. Joseph A. Frezza and his wife Monnette of Flemington and Anthony J. Frezza and his wife Deanna of High Bridge; her daughter, Toni Lynn Luisi and her fianc, Kevin Carney of Washington Township; her brother, John T. Riley of Nanuet, NY and her sister, Sr. Nancy Riley, RSM of Watchung. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Marla and Anthony Carl Frezza. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 9:45 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Mass at St. Lukes Church, North Plainfield. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be on Friday, April 29th from 2-4 & 7-9.
