Obituary of Rena Twisdale

Rena Delores (Cox) Twisdale, age 91, died on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at home in Plainfield. She was born in Petersburg, VA and had lived in Philadelphia and Atlantic City before residing in Plainfield. She was a homemaker and a receptionist for Atlantic Human Resources, retiring in the 1980s. Mrs. Twisdale was a devoted mother who nutured and guided her children and grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Ms. Renie or Nana. She delighted in knowing that family and friends immensely enjoyed her hot rolls, fried chicken and pot roast. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gospel music, a good laugh and was a member of the 1920 Arctic Avenue Debate Team. She leaves behind to cherish her love and memory, her sons, Lavert R. Twisdale of Springfield, VA and Allan T. Twisdale of Atlantic City; her daughter,Donna Twisdale-Sprott, M.D. and her husband, Kendell R. Sprott, M.D. of Plainfield. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and loving friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
