Obituary of Solomon Rosenstock
Solomon Rosenstock, a proud man, born May 16, 1918 to Abraham and Sela Rosenstock in Wieliczka, Poland, died on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Chelsea in Fanwood.
On surviving the Second World War, Sol became the liaison between the US Army and displaced Holocaust survivors in Saalsburg Austria where he met his future wife of 65 years, Helen.
In 1946 Sol and Helen immigrated to the US and settled in Plainfield, NJ where his two children, Sigmund and Barbara were born and raised.
In America, Sol became a cake decorator and was one of the founders of Freedman Bakery and in later years the owner of the Flamingo Pastry Shop in Elizabeth, NJ. During his career he had the honor of making a cake for President Truman.
In 1953 he reunited with his brother, Max Royston, Max's wife Helen and their three sons.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, his parents, and his brothers, Max and Monic.
Surviving are his children; Sigmund Rosenstock and Barbara Rosenstock Metcalf and her husband, Rowan, and three nephews, Ivor, Eliot and Gerald.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 12 noon at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.
