Obituary of Charles Parham

Charles Parham, 81, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at his home in Plainfield. Born and raised in Newark,Mr. Parham had lived in Piscataway before moving to Plainfield in 2003. Brother Parham was added to the body of Christ at the Church of Christ in Newark, NJ and he served in the vineyard at the North Shore Church of Christ on Staten Island. Before his retirement in 1991, he was an auto mechanic for United Auto Body in Newark, NJ. Mr. Parham served in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed working on cars and playing baseball, but most of all, he enjoyed his family. Mr. Parham often helped his friends and family with spiritual advice. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his children, Enette Johnson and her husband, Robert, Ron Parham and his wife, Valerie, Michelle Black and her husband, James, Myles Parham and his wife, Shelley, Patricia Johnson and her husband, Barry and Wade Parham and his wife, Arlene; his devoted grandchildren, Jamie and Brendan Johnson, Ronnah Monique Parham, Danielle Black, Shelice and Jamar Parham, Patrice and Reggie Johnson, Justin, Takera and Temegan Parham. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Victoria Leach and Virginia Armstrong, his brother-in-law, Alexander Leach, his niece Judy Parham and a nephew, Wayne Parham. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral services on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Newark Church of Christ, 894 South 14th Street in Newark at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
