Obituary of Paul E. Van Steenburghe
Paul E. Van Steenberghe, age 77, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in Union City and had lived in Berkeley Heights for 47 years before moving to Scotch Plains.
Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was a Vice President for the Trinity Bag and Paper Company in Manhattan since 1954.
Mr. Van Steenberghe served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Madeline Mayer and Romanie Bray.
Mr. Van Steenberghe is survived by his wife, Lillian A. (Sobers) Van Steenberghe; his daughters, Paula Pfriender and her husband Robert of Hillsborough and Janis Van Steenberghe of Scotch Plains and his grandchildren, Eric, Bryan and Matthew Pfriender.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7-9 and on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9.
