Obituary of Antoinette Phillips
Antoinette Phillips, age 86, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at her home.
She was born in Poland, and then at the age of 12 her family moved to France. In 1946, during W.W.II she met a soldier, Robert J. Phillips, they married and then moved to the United States. She had resided in Watchung for 29 years before moving to Piscataway 4 years ago.
Mr. & Mrs. Phillips owned the Green Brook Bowling Lanes in Green Brook for 55 years. After her husbands death in 1983, she continued running the business until her retirement in 2000. She was a former communicant of St. Marys R.C. Church in Plainfield, and she loved trips to Atlantic City.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane F. Gura and her husband Mike of Watchung; a son Benjamin A. Phillips of Bridgewater; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Phillips of Bridgewater; a sister Odette Villard of France; 7 grandchildren, Brittany, Kristy, Jacqueline, Renee, Ryan, Corrine, Brendon; and 1 great-grandson Jack. Also many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 9:15 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bound Brook. Interment will be in St. Andrews Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 7-9 p.m. only.
