Obituary of Albin J. “Bob” Ehrhardt
Albin Bob John Ehrhardt, age 87, died on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at his home. He was born in Hoboken, moved to Jersey City then Warren in 1950. He was employed by New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company in Trenton, first as a Safety Engineer then as Chief Inspector, retiring after 43 years. Mr. Ehrhardt served his country during W.W.II in the China, Burma and India Theater with the 330th Engineering Corps, US Army. He received an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newark Technical School and then attended Newark College of Engineering. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Warren Senior Citizens, Madison Masonic Lodge #93, American Legion Post #293, NJ Industrial Safety Committee, the China-Burma-India Veterans Association and the National Association of Railroad Passengers. Mr. Ehrhardt was Mayor of Warren Township in 1962 and served on the township committee from 1960-1963. He also served on the Warren Township Board of Education from 1957-1060. In 1998 he received Man of the Year award for his service to Warren Township. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Genevieve (Okulicz) Ehrhardt, two sons Albin Ehrhardt, Jr. and his wife Downamorn of Warren; Dr. Eric Ehrhardt and his wife Dr. Susan of Oswego, NY; two daughters, Kathryn Ehrhardt of Brodheadsville, PA and Zuzan Ehrhardt of Warren. Six grandchildren Thomas, Erica and Henrik Ehrhardt, Fred, Dieter and Rainer Klock. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at 2:30 p.m. in the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to the time of the service. Interment is private.
