Obituary of Thomas J. Hassard

Thomas J. Hassard, age 47, died on June 25th 2005 at the Hartwyck Nursing Home at Cedar Brook in Plainfield NJ. Mr. Hassard was born in Ireland and had resided in Warren and Maine before moving to Plainfield two years ago. Mr. Hassard was a graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School and earned his Bachelors degree in Human Services from the University of Maine. He was a devout Mormon and was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an avid reader. He also was dedicated in working with young children with learning disabilities. Mr. Hassard is survived by his parents Robert and Joan Hassard of Warren; and two sisters Nancy Voltz of Fanwood and Carol Bailey of Anchorage AK. He is also survived by four nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday June 28th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bridgewater. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07060 and on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in his loving memory to the Huntington Disease Foundation
