Obituary of Anne Brennan

Anne Lacey Brennan, age 102, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2005. Mrs. Brennan was born in Clifden, County Galway, Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1925, where she lived in Plainfield with her sister Margaret Lacey Lyons until she married Patrick Brennan in 1932. Mrs. Brennan worked as a domestic in the Plainfield area for many years. Anne was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Plainfield since 1925 and was a member of the Rosary Society and Hibernian Club. She loved Ireland and was a part of the Irish Catholic Community in Plainfield that built St. Marys Church. She is predeceased by her husband, Patrick Brennan in 1945. The last of 10 siblings, surviving are her sister-in-law, Anne Lacey of Plainfield; her nephews, Thomas Lyons and his wife Valerie of Middlesex, Francis Lacey of Plainfield and James Lyons of Toms River and a niece, Marie Lacey of North Plainfield as well as many nieces and nephews in California and Ireland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14th at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Marys church in Plainfield. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 13th from 7-9 only.
