Obituary of Phyllis A. Buttke

Phyllis A. Buttke, age 83, died on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Greenbrook Manor Nursing Home in Green Brook. She was born in Plainfield and was a lifelong North Plainfield resident. Prior to her retirement in 1990, Mrs. Buttke was a Customer Service Representative for the First National Bank of Central Jersey in North plainfield for 23 years. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross and was a member of the Altar Guild for a time. Her father and mother, Frank and Hazel Murtha, her brother, Frank Murtha and her sister, Mary Brown all predeceased her. Her family was very important to her. Mrs. Buttke is survived by her husband of 59 years, Leslie W. Buttke; her son, Jeffrey Buttke and his wife Rhoda of Kenmore, Washington; her daughter, Carol Buttke of North Plainfield and her grandchildren, Heather Buttke and Steven Buttke, both of Kenmore, WA. Also surviving are her niece, Paula DePaolo of Bound Brook and her nephew, Robert Brown of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m.at the Church of the Holy Cross in North Plainfield. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset Street, North Plainfield.
