Obituary of Robert E. Fakhoury
Robert Edward Fakhoury, 56, died on Sunday, August 7th at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Mr. Fakhoury had lived in Warren for 12 years. He was born in Cairo, Egypt and came to Brooklyn, New York in 1965.
He studied engineering at Pace University in New York but pursued a long-time career in financial services. He worked for Standard Chartered Bank in New York City for 30 years attaining the position of Treasurer. For the past three years he was the Vice-President of Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale/LB (NORD/LB) in New York City.
He loved music, the guitar, and he played in a band. His passions were his love of his family and his love of the New York Jets and the game of golf. He admired Tiger Woods.
He is predeceased by his father Edward Fakhoury.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Coyne Fakhoury; daughter Lauren and son Brian, both at home; mother Rachel Fakhoury of New York City, his sister Juliette Mallat of New York City, his nephew Serge Mallat of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his aunts Renee Haddida of Queens and Lucie Selim of Montreal, Canada; his cousins Vivian Selim and Terry Selim of Montreal, Canada, his uncle Henry Fakhoury of Los Angeles, California, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Matt and Kathy Pulizzi of Toms River, New Jersey; his niece Kristen DeRienzo of Westchester, New York and his nephew Scott Pulizzi of Boston, Massachusetts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12th at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung. There will be visitation Thursday August 11th at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
