Obituary of Steven J. Lapidus

Steven J. Lapidus, age 52, of Brigantine, died on Wednesday August 10, 2005 at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, NJ. Born in Plainfield, Mr. Lapidus had resided in Colorado, Manhattan and Plainfield before moving to Brigantine 15 years ago. Mr. Lapidus for the past 15 years was working as a waiter for the Trump Casinos in Atlantic City. He received a bachelors degree from the University of Denver in 1975. Mr. Lapidus loved sports, especially basketball. He is survived by his wife Joanne (Sies) Lapidus; his mother Anita (Linder) Lapidus; a sister Marilyn Lapidus and her husband Arnold Baer. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, a sister-in-law and two brother-in-laws. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2005 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield with Rabbi Moshe Samber officiating. Interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset, NJ 08873. Shiva will be held from Sunday to Wednesday at the Anita Lapidus residence, at 264A Crosse Drive in Monroe.
