Obituary of Ligia "Lil" Pukas
Ligia Lil Pukas, age80, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She was born in Glen Cove, NY, grew up in Queens and Brooklyn and she spent most of her life on Long Island before moving to Warren. Mrs. Pukas was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, reading and going to the beach. She was a Girl Scout Leader and she especially loved her grandchildren. Mrs. Pukas is predeceased by her husband, Edward Pukas in 1969 and her son Edward Pukas in 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Cacioppo and her husband, Phil of Warren; her brother, Bobby of Long Island; her sisters, Irene Walkam and Alma Cohen, both of Long Island and her grandchildren, P.J. and Allie Cacioppo. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset Street, North Plainfield. Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island. Visitation will be on Saturday from 8:00 to 9:30 am. Memorial donations may be made to either the American Diabetes Association, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset, NJ 08873 or to the American Heart Association Memorial program, 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
