Obituary of Christine J. Schwitzer

Christine Zocchi Schwitzer, 84, died Friday, September 23, 2005 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown. Born and raised in Elizabeth, the daughter of the late Dominic and Ida Russomano Zocchi, she resided in Union for 32 years before moving to Basking Ridge 9 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1985, Mrs. Schwitzer was employed as a secretary for Apruzzese and McDermott law office in Springfield. Christine was an active member of St. James R.C. Church and Sts. Joachim and Anne Society in Basking Ridge. In addition, she was a member of the Somerset County Chapter of the AARP, the Spring Ridge Social Club of Basking Ridge and the Leisure Club of Bernards Township. Her husband of 23 years, Mortimer Schwitzer, predeceased her in 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Gray and her husband Robert of Millington; a son, James Kiley and his wife Mary of Wall Township; a brother, Michael Zocchi and his wife Eileen of Basking Ridge; four grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Jessica Gray and Michael Kiley, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 9 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10:00 am. Mass of Resurrection at St. James R.C. Church in Basking Ridge and interment at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenilworth. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
