Obituary of Philomenia Gonzales

Philomena A. Gonzales, age 93, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. She was born in New York City and had lived in Bayonne and Piscataway before moving to Berkeley Heights. Mrs. Gonzales retired as a seamstress from the Superior Petticoat Company in Bayonne in 1974. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Bayonne and Piscataway and she enjoyed reading and crocheting. Mrs. Gonzales is predeceased by her first husband, Albert Nunez, Sr. in 1966 and her second husband, Jose Gonzales in 1992. She is survived by her children, Albert Nunez, Jr. and his wife, Candita, Ann King and Michael Nunez and his wife Alice; her brother, Frank Parisi; her sisters, Daisy Soeyfet, Carmela Carneal and Natalie Carrol. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Saturday from 7-9 and on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to the charity of your choice.
