Obituary of Jean Smith

: Jean (Simone) Smith, age 81, died on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at home. Mrs. Smith was born in Jersey City, lived in Harrison, Elizabeth, Roselle Park and Jackson until moving to Somerset 2 years ago. Mrs. Smith was a self-employed Antique Dealer who with her husband, traveled throughout the mid-Atlantic States for their business. She volunteered at Union Memorial Hospital and Centra State Hospital in Freehold. During her spare time she also enjoyed knitting, dancing, poker, thoroughbred racing and socializing. She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth E. Smith in 2004 and her son James in 1985. Mrs. Smith is survived by her children Bill Dobski; Jeanne Kappel and her daughter Christi; Richard Geraci; Richard Campbell; Darlene Kooken; Richard Kooken and his wife Marge and Karen Davis and her husband Stewart; 2 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Visitation will be on Monday October 10th from 5-8 p.m.
