Obituary of Lucy Rose Kapsak
Lucy Rose (Cirigliano) Kapsak, age 93, died on Friday, October 14, 2005 at her home on Montrose Avenue in South Plainfield. Mrs. Kapsak was born in New York City and resided in South Plainfield for 91 years. She lived in the same house for 65 years and was often called the Queen of Montrose Avenue. Mrs. Kapsak worked as a presser in various dress shops in the Plainfield area from age 15 until she retired in 1980, often working at two or even three jobs to help support her family. Her children and her grandchildren will always remember her hard work, self sacrifice and her dedication to family. She particularly enjoyed working outdoors and visiting with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas W. Kapsak in 1982 and a grandson, Christopher T. Kapsak in 2002. Surviving are her sons, Thomas J. Kapsak and his wife Rosemary of Watchung and Anthony J. Kapsak and his wife Patsy of Deland, FL; four sisters, Theresa Malec and Elizabeth Cirigliano, both of South Plainfield and Mildred Bruno and Mary Bellina, both of Edison. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Brenda Kapsak of St. Mary, FL, Daniel Kapsak of Alexandria, VA and Michael Kapsak of Altamonte Springs, FL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 19th, 2005 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung with Pastor John Massameno officiating, followed by interment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
