Obituary of William F. Ritchie

William Frances Ritchie, age 89, died on Monday, November 14, 2005 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center. He was born in New York City and had lived in Middlesex for 50 years before moving to Watchung 6 months ago. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Ritchie was a Parcel Post Carrier for the US Postal Service in Bound Brook. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Ritchie was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church and was an usher there for many years. He loved reading and as an avid baseball fan, enjoyed playing in the Bound Brook Indians Adult Baseball League. He is survived by his wife, Margaret G. Constandi Ritchie; his daughter, Suzanne Lally and her husband Charles; his son, Charles Ritchie; his grandchildren, Jennifer Powers, Kimberly Seck and Christopher Ritchie and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18th at 9:15 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
