Obituary of Alice D. Barber

(Mary) Alice Moran Barber, age 95, died on Friday, December 9, 2005 at her home. Born in Scranton, PA, Mrs. Barber resided in North Plainfield for the past 55 years. She worked for the Wilkinson Sword Company in Springfield, retiring in 1971. Mrs. Barber is predeceased by her husband, Gustave F. Barber in 1991. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Alice Richardson and her husband Dan of Salem, Virginia; Joan Maguire and her husband Peter of Denville and Rita Slattery and her husband Edward of Cranford. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 13, from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 461 Somerset Street, North Plainfield, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection in St. Lukes Catholic Church, 300 Clinton Avenue, North Plainfield. Visitation will be prior to the mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
