Obituary of George Anthony Haggerty

George A. Haggerty, age 76, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was born in the Bronx and had lived in Martinsville since 1976. Mr. Haggerty was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Navy and the Merchant Marines. Prior to his retirement, he was a Business Analyst for NJ Bell in Madison. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Haggerty was a Communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. He is predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Ann. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Anna Marie Vallario Haggerty; his son, Dan Haggerty and his wife, Lauren and his grandchildren, Melissa, Joey, Madeline and Caroline. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 9:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 22 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
