Obituary of Dorothy R. Gennaro

Dorothy R. (Abbott) Gennaro, age 84, died on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, and has resided in Warren for the past 59 years. She worked as the secretary to the superintendent of the Watchung Regional High School Board of Education for 20 years retiring in 1984. Mrs. Gennaro is a communicant of Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church in Warren, and a member of their Rosary Altar Society. She also was a member of the Warren Senior Citizens, Warren Republican Club, Warren Historical Society and a former president of the Warren PTA. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Gennaro in 2000. She is survived by her son, Michael M. and her three daughters, Marianne K. Gennaro, Dorothy R. Thayne and Rose A. Gennaro; one sister, Joan Brown; and nine grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 29th at 9 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church, Warren. Visitation will be on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
