Dear Karen:
Just a short note to let you know that we are so sorry about Tom. I can't even imagine how difficult this has been for you, the boys, and of course, Tom.
We are "short timers" in Spring run. I will always remember that one of the first people to reach out to us was Tom- pool side during July 2003. He quickly set us at ease with a quick smile, and a very friendly overview of "life at Spring Run". He could have been featured on the cover a travel brochure for the Bahamas.... laying in a recliner, reading the paper, with his shades in place... stress level near zero. I remember thinking... I am going to like this place!
Every time I ran into Tom after that, we always had such a great conversation- whether it was about retirement planning/finances, the stupid moves the Mets made, or the better brands of Gin. Neck discomfort occurred at times .... from looking up so long! He was always one of the people that I sought out, because talking with him was so easy and so enjoyable. (I especially remember the wine tasting party- where wine flowed, conversation flourished, and wine flowed!).
Thank you for all of the updates on Tom's progress over the last several months. Tom was blessed to have you at his side. God bless you and your family, and may Tom rest in peace.
