Obituary of Walter “Sonny” Lynch
Walter Sonny Lynch, age 88, died on Saturday January 21, 2006 at the Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ. Mr. Lynch was born in Plainfield NJ, had lived most of his life until moving to Bangor PA in 1986. In 1959, Mr. Lynch had graduated from Bar Tender School Inc. in New York City. He had worked as a bar tender for Larisons Turkey Farm from 1967 to 1974 and at the Ox Bow in Middlesex from 1974 to 1991. Mr. Lynch is a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Vasa Park in Bud Lake, NJ. He enjoyed reading, playing horseshoes, and taking trips to Atlantic City, where he was a platinum member at Harrahs Casino. Mr. Lynch was a gifted story teller and enjoyed being around people. He is predeceased by his sister Helen L. Drozd in 2003 Surviving are his wife Virginia (Samski) Lynch of Bangor, PA; a step-daughter Sandra Biersack of Portland, PA; two nieces Judith Sutton of Bernardsville and Barbara Lippin of Scottsdale AZ; a nephew Douglas Drozd of Jacksonville Beach FL. Also surviving are two step-grandchildren and four great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday January 27, 2006 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West Eighth St. Plainfield NJ 07060 followed by the interment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
