Obituary of Henry J. Karwoski

Henry (Hank) J. Karwoski, 89, of Bricktown, entered eternal life on January 21, 2006, just days after his birthday was celebrated. Born in Bridgeport Connecticut, raised in Plainfield, NJ he moved to Bricktown where he lived his last 40 years. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Visitation in Brick. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a staff Sergeant where he received the purple heart during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the DAV Chapter NJ 20 and a member of the VFW Post 506 North Plainfield. Henry was an avid fisherman and in his younger years, an excellent bowler. He is predeceased by his parents John and Helen Pachucki Karwoski; his brothers John and Stanley; his sister-in-law Stephanie Karwoski. Surviving are his sister Anne S. Peterson and brother-in-law Conrad (Gene) Peterson of Freehold. Nine nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. He had many dear friends through the years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 9 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Helens R.C. Church, Westfield. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
