Obituary of Genevieve Kaszuba
Mrs. Genevieve Genia Puzniak Kaszuba, age 87, died on Friday, January 27, 2006 in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield. Born in Newark and raised in Poland, Mrs. Kaszuba has been a resident of Plainfield for the past 51 years. She worked as a steamtress for Teppers Department store and The Wardrobe in Plainfield. Genia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her passion for life was seen in many ways. Next to her devotion and love for God, her love for and dedication to her family was the most important thing in her life. She showed her love for her children and grandchildren. She was a most gracious and endearing hostess, wanting to feed everyone that came to her home and make them feel comfortable. She was well known for her great mastery in the kitchen, especially for her wonderful desserts. Her great love of cooking made every meal a feast. In former years, her garden supplied a wonderful variety of vegetables as well as being a picture of floral beauty. Her talent as a seamstress showed itself in many outfits for her girls and shirts for her Stefan. Genia is predeceased by her parents, Bronislaw and Mary Calujek Puzniak, her sisters Lodzia and Czesia, and her brother Czesiu; also her beloved husband Stefan in 1994, her daughter Barbara in 1971, and her son John in 1964. Surviving are her three daughters, Alice Kaszuba of Plainfield; Christine Gola and her husband Joe of Garwood; Mary Toth and her husband Tom of Milltown; three grandsons Michael, Nicholas and Frank Toth; a sister Stanislawa Nowaczyk and her brother Marian Puzniak both of Poland. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Marys R.C. Church, Plainfield. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
