Obituary of Nancy J. Danyus

Mrs. Nancy J. (Santacross) Danyus, age 83, died on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Woodlands Genesis Elder Care facility in Plainfield. Born and raised in Plainfield, Mrs. Danyus was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Danyus, after 44 years of marriage. Mrs. Danyus was a Communicant of St. Bernard's R.C. Church in Plainfield. She worked for the Bronston Hat Factory as an assembly line worker for 10 years retiring in 1977. She also was a member of the Plainfield Senior Citizens, and she enjoyed cooking for her family and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter, Lucille Thurston and her husband Robert of Plainfield; and her son, Louis Danyus of New Providence; one brother, Marco Santacross of Long Hill, NJ and two sisters, Jennie Mesko of Linden and Michaelina Graziadio of Plainfield. Also survived by two grandchildren, Louis Danyus Jr. of North Plainfield and Anthony Danyus of Bridgewater. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 21st at 9:15 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Bernard's R.C. Church, Plainfield. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation on Monday, February 20th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bernard's R.C. Church in her memory.
